About Hubba Hubba Quilts

I´m from Webster, New York and I love to sew! I learned to sew as a kid from my Mom and 4-H. I sewed apparel for myself for years and then for my two girls; since they are now in college and out on their own, my apparel projects are limited so I have branched out to other things. I love making memory quilts and pillows because it allows me to help others capture the milestones in their lives. I started out making projects for my family; and being one of nine children we sure had a lot to commemorate! One of my favorite aspects is customizing each project to fit a person´s unique style and preferences. Seeing the emotional impact of every finished product continually motivates me to share my talent in this way.

More About Our Products

Our memory quilts and pillows are completely custom-made so keep in mind that this process takes time; for a pillow, allow approximately one month and for a quilt, allow up to three months after the photos are received.

Both the quilts and pillows are made by taking your photographs and inputting them into a photoshop software program (all photos will be returned with your completed project with no alterations made to the actual photographs.) We can use any size photograph, regular prints or digital. In the case of regular prints, the photos are scanned into the computer. We can keep the photos as they are color-wise or we can convert them all to black and white or sepia toned. Using input from you as to what photos should be highlighted, or the relationship between the photos, we create a unique design incorporating the photos and 2 to 4 different cotton fabrics. At this point, we will send you a copy of the cropped photos for your approval. The photos are then printed on iron-on transfer paper and transferred onto white muslin fabric.

The quilt/pillow is then sewn together. The quilts will have a muslin backing and a thin layer of batting in the middle to add some thickness. For an additional cost, a cotton or fleece backing may be used.

You have the choice of how to hang the quilt, if you want to use a decorative rod, we will place some plackets along the top for the rod to go through, if you want to hang it with a rod that doesn't show then we will place a placket for the rod on the back, another idea is to purchase wooden corner quilt holders at your local quilt shop.

The pillow will have a coordinating fabric back, lace or binding along the edge, and will be 18 in. x 18 in. Other sizes are available - larger sizes at an additional cost.

The final product and all photos will be shipped back to you. We will need a $50.00 deposit at the start of a wall hanging project or tshirt quilt, the rest due on completion.

A t-shirt quilt can be made to fit a specific bed size or as a wall hanging. We will work with you to match the product to the specific person; some examples: one person liked astronomy so we used blue fabric with gold stars, on a mother's quilt, we included a bib and spoon that were her childrens, on another, we included her collection of buttons, on a graduate's, we incorporated her high school letters, and on an anniversary quilt, we included their laminated wedding announcement, the list is endless.
